Bulk Ingredient Control

V5 Bulk Ingredient Control System is the perfect way to ensure high volume, bulk fed, dry or liquid ingredients are accounted for against the finished batch and tracked accurately (Mixed or Separated Lots).

The manufacturing execution system ensures traceability of automatic bulk ingredient movements from silos and holding tanks to the mixer, preventing costly ‘pull everything’ recall situations.

SG Systems has a flexible approach to communicating with PLC Systems (For example, a PLC may draw an ingredient from a Silo and transfer it to a hopper prior to its use in a mix.  The lot transfer is recorded, eliminating paper records.)

V5 Manufacturing Traceability Software System typically integrates with existing PLC’s (at a high or low level) using a variety of communication methods depending on the current or desired setup.

Statistical Process Control

V5 Statistical Process Control System (SPC) enables sample checkweighing of WIP and finished products, providing quality assurance and accurate weight trend statistical monitoring.

The simple to use system allows samples to be weighed and charted, with an optional link to the divider / filler to monitor and control batch standard deviation.  Out of specification samples prompt warnings and record remedial action.

The system has adjustable high and low weight parameters. This allows operators and managers to be alerted by a non-conforming weight trend (negative or positive) or high standard deviation (pocket or filler specific).

Average weight, minimum weight and custom sampling routines are available.

This action of statistical sampling is proven to reduce giveaway, improve quality control and prevent product returns.

Product Labeling & Pallet Building

SG Systems V5 Product Labeling System is the perfect way to ensure finished products are identified accurately and consistently, with a direct link to the manufactured batches and packaging inventory.

The line side Labeling System can be activated by push button (1 label at a time), bulk print (enter qty manually) or PLC triggered (tray stacker, case erector etc.)

The Labeling System can work stand alone (identifying products using date / time & line number) or fully integrated into the manufacturing process (printing traceable batch numbers).

SSCC Pallet labels can be printed to identify pallet contents and location.  Pallet Management software allows pallets to be edited, merged, deleted and split.

When line integrated, the Labeling System scans and validates batch numbers providing MES real time inventory usage and eliminating costly traceability paperwork.

Laboratory Testing (LIMS)

Ensuring products compliance, V5 LIMS System forces quarantine of selected MES batches & products, pending process results.

• Ensure all testing is performed according to product specifications.
• Co-ordinate the approval of materials where multiple samples and approvals are required.
• Prevent usage of expired or unapproved materials.
• Create Certificates of Analysis from test results and store results for easy retrieval.

Management Control Center

SG Systems V5 Control Center Software MES allows setup and control of key daily production and inventory control requirements.

Core modules include WMS (SO/PO Fulfillment), Recipe Formulation (BOM Setup), Production Planning & Scheduling, Finished Product Creation & Label Setup, SPC, Quality Assurance & Operator Controls.

The software provides full traceability for companies requiring a single solution to track materials from receiving to shipping, including the respective batching and production processes.  It also acts as middleware for companies looking to extend ERP and accounting software functionality to include real time production floor data.

Software licenses & production hardware (touch screens, scales, bar code scanners, mobile computers etc)  communicates with a SQL database (Microsoft SQL or Oracle MySQL), providing connection to single and multi site operations.

Application Programming Interface

ERP Gateway from SG Systems is an optional V5 module created to speed up the transfer of electronic data between software systems (customer ERP / MRP or Accounting System and the V5 Manufacturing Traceability Software System / MES Manufacturing Execution System).

The Gateway module prevents human errors commonly associated with manual traceability paperwork used to support Inventory, Production, Formulas (BOM’s), Sales Orders and Purchase Orders).  In essence, the gateway prevents existing ERP / Accounting software from ‘running blind’ – a common cause of unaccountable losses and inaccurate production data.

The gateway application is routinely installed in manufacturing facilities and shares data with popular ERP / Accounting Systems.  The Gateway module typically handles CSV / XML files placed in a shared location on a Windows / Unix server.  Custom API’s are developed as needed and utilize JSON / web services. SQL read/write is also available.
