Printers

Summary

This screen will let you create and edit label printers that are attached to the system, what type of labels they can print and how they can be commincated with.

Button Help

Adds a Printer to the list.

Deletes a Printer from the list.

Exports a CSV file with the table view contents (opens in Excel).

Search Assist

Type into the box and the system will search automatically based on the menu selection to the right (click and use the pull down to select which column to search). Delete the text to remove the search.

Code

This displays the Printers Code and what the system will use to reference it, this can be changed by double clicking on the cell.

Service Name

This displays what the printer is called within the PC’s Operating System. If you are using a USB printer, you can go into the PC’s printer settings and paste the printers name into this field so the system knows which one it is.

Printer Type

This displays what type of printer the selected printer is. You can change this by double clicking on the cell and selecting from a drop down menu.

IP Address

This displays the IP Address of the selected printer if it is networked, this is what address the system will use when it is trying to communicate with the device. This can be changed by double clicking on the cell and typing an address in.

Port

This displays what network port the printer is on if it is networked. This can be changed by double clicking on the cell and entering a new port number.

Default Set

This is what label format sets the printer will use when printing. Different formats will control what the labels will look like. These formats can be selected by double clicking on the cell and selecting from a drop down menu.

Username

This displays the Username of the FTP server if you want to print to a file. The system will use this so the server can be authenticated.

Password

This displays the Password of the FTP server if you want to print to a file. The system will use this so the server can be authenticated.

Directory

This is the directory in which the label will be stored if printing to a file.

File Extension

This is where you specify what type of file you will be printing to; for example, you could specify a .txt file

Icon

Graphic file name used to identify the make of a label printer, displayed on the terminal screen where there are multiple printers to choose from.

Keyboard Controls

Moves cell down.

Moves cell right.

Hold down to select multiple rows.

Cancels transaction.
