Overview:
The Head of Software at SG Systems Global holds a pivotal position, spearheading the strategic direction, development, and implementation of the company’s software initiatives. This leadership role encompasses the oversight of the entire software development lifecycle, from concept through to deployment, ensuring projects align with both company objectives and customer needs. The ideal candidate will bring a robust technical background, exemplary leadership skills, and a solid history of technological innovation within process manufacturing or similar sectors.
Educational and Professional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Computer Science or equivalent field. Professional experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in process manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a related industry with a strong focus on technological applications.
Demonstrated experience as a full-stack developer, with extensive knowledge of both front-end and back-end technologies, database management, and cloud-based infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategically lead the development and execution of the V5 Traceability Roadmap, ensuring it is in alignment with SG Systems Global’s long-term goals and responsive to market dynamics.
Chair development meetings to establish clear objectives, milestones, and expectations for the software development team, promoting a culture of accountability and innovation.
Oversee the API development for V5 Connect, collaborating with the team to ensure robust integration and optimal functionality across different platforms.
Oversee the development and maintenance of robust device and user authorization mechanisms, including token management, OAuth2 protocols, and two-factor authentication (2FA), to ensure the highest standards of security and access control across all products.
Direct efforts to enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) and the architecture of cloud solutions, adopting best practices in software engineering and cloud technologies.
Ensure the company’s network architecture diagrams are regularly updated and readily available online, supporting transparency and facilitating easier understanding and troubleshooting.
Promote collaboration across different teams to ensure development strategies are integrated and leverage a wide range of technologies for comprehensive software solutions.
Ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions that not only meet but exceed market and customer expectations in terms of functionality and reliability.
Evaluate and respond to the need for additional talent, leading the recruitment and onboarding of further developers as necessary to support development objectives and project demands.
